Renewing your business entity license

Renew your business entity insurance license online (nipr.com).

Adjusters to renew, log into your account (fortress.wa.gov). Select "Renew License" and complete your online renewal application.

Affiliations are part of a business-entity license renewal. You cannot renew a business entity license without at least one active affiliation. Your designated responsible licensed person also needs an active license when you renew.

When can I renew my license?

You can renew up to 90 days before your license expiry date for on-time renewal. After the expiry date, you can late renew your license for up to 60 days. There are late fees for renewing your license late. After 60 days, the license cannot be renewed.

Am I notified when my license is due for renewal?

We will send you an email reminder 90, 60, and 30 days before your license expires. We send the notice to the email listed as your mailing address. If you don't renew your license by the expiry date, you have 60 days after expiration to late renew. After 60 days, the license cannot be renewed. We'll send a notice to your email once the license is past the late renewal period.

It is the responsibility of the licensee to know their license expiry date. Reminders from our office are a courtesy.

Using National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR)

Renewals are not available through NIPR's system.

We send NIPR our license information once every 24 hours. After NIPR receives updated information, it can take anywhere from 48 hours to 10 days for it to be displayed on NIPR. If more than 10 days have passed and your information is not displaying, contact us.
