Final order on court's credit scoring decision; Kreidler will not appeal

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Washington state Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler and the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies and American Property Casualty Insurance Association have agreed to a final order  in response to the recent Thurston County Superior Court ruling on Kreidler’s credit scoring rule. Kreidler will not appeal the court’s decision.

Kreidler extends orders on coronavirus and surprise billing to September 25

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler has extended three emergency orders. His order requiring health insurers to waive copays and deductibles for any consumer requiring testing for the coronavirus (COVID-19) and his order protecting consumers from receiving surprise bills for lab fees related to medically necessary diagnostic testing for COVID-19 are both extended until September 25.

Kreidler also extended his order requiring health insurers to cover coronavirus vaccine counseling until October 4.

Medova ordered to stop selling unauthorized health insurance in Washington

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Medova Healthcare Financial Group, LLC (Medova) of Wichita, Kansas and its president and CEO, Daniel Whitney, were ordered to stop selling illegal health insurance in Washington state and agreed to a $310,000 suspended fine. Medova and Whitney also surrendered their insurance producer licenses and agreed to stop doing insurance business in Washington.

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Tory McMillen, of Friday Harbor, Wash., and Xuan Tran, of Vancouver, Wash., have been added to Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler’s most wanted after they failed to appear in court to face felony insurance fraud charges.
