OIC’s Climate Summit is returning in 2022 as a series of interviews, webinars and presentations.

The 2022 Climate Summit Series started in September with an interview with Dr. Kris Ebi (washington.edu), Professor of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences at the University of Washington.

The Climate Summit Series’ second entry comes from Dr. Anthony Leiserowitz, head of Yale University’s Program on Climate Change Communication.

The Climate Summit Series’ third entry comes from the 2022 Sun Valley Forum (sunvalleyforum.com). The OIC Senior Climate Advisor Jay Bruns hosts a discussion — titled Financial Risk and Resilience, Returns and Opportunity — that covers how data, ESG (environmental, social and governance), and policies are guiding capital and asset management in a time of climate change. The discussion also features Chris Fowle, head of ESG integration and investments at Guardian Life Insurance.

The Climate Summit Series’ fourth entry — Human Influence on the 2021 Pacific Northwest Floods — comes from Dr. Nathan Gillett, a research scientist with Environment & Climate Change Canada. Dr. Gillett also co-authored a report on the 2021 floods (sciencedirect.com).

We'll add each video in the series to the Office of the Insurance Commissioner's YouTube page and the OIC's podcast feeds (anchor.com). The full series is free to watch and we’ll notify you when new videos are posted.
