First make sure the company you're considering is licensed to do business in Washington state (fortress.wa.gov). You can also check to see how many complaints they have with our office (fortress.wa.gov).

What insurance companies look at before they'll insure you
- They will look into your previous insurance history to see if you qualify for coverage with their company.
- They may ultimately quote you a different premium than what they initially quoted you, once they look into your history.
If you don't like what they quote you, continue shopping around.
You already have insurance coverage and want to switch companies
After you buy a new policy, be sure to cancel your previous policy. If you forget, you may be stuck paying premiums for two policies.
