For Consumers

Health clinics and hospital care

If you qualify, there are health clinics that offer free or reduced-cost care for health care services. In addition, all hospitals offer similar programs to help pay for health care services.

Health clinics

Community clinics (www.wacommunityhealth.org) - Offer health care services in most counties and charge based on a sliding-fee scale.

Local free clinics (www.wahealthcareaccessalliance.org) - Offer free health care and are often run by volunteers with donated supplies.

Rural health clinics (www.ruralhealthinfo.org) - Provide affordable access to health care services in most counties.

Tribal clinics (www.npaihb.org) - Offer health care to tribal members and their families.

Hospital care

Hospital charity care (www.wsha.org) - All hospitals in Washington state must offer charity care to people who cannot pay their medical bills. Care is provided free or at reduced prices to people who qualify. For more information, talk to your hospital’s billing department.
