Search tips

You can search rate requests by:

Type of health insurance plan

1. Select one of the following:

  • All plans (searches all individual and small-employer health plan rate requests)
  • Individual plans (searches health plans for individuals and families)
  • Small-employer plans (searches health plans from employers with 1 to 50 employees)

2. Click "Search" to view rate requests.

If your insurance company isn't in the search results, you either don’t have an individual or small-employer health plan or your company is no longer actively selling in Washington state. Email us for help in determining your type of plan.

 Insurance company name

  1. Select an insurance company from the drop-down menu in "All companies."
  2. Click "Search" to view rate requests.

Status of request (approved, under review, not approved or withdrawn)

  1. Click "Advanced search."
  2. In "Status," select a plan status from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click "Search" to view rate requests.

importantTip

Click "What's this?" to get information about the four status possibilities:

  • Under review – We haven't completed our review of the rate request or we’re waiting for the company’s response.
  • Approved – We’ve completed our review and decided that the request is acceptable.
  • Not approved – We’ve completed our review and decided that the request is unacceptable, or the company failed to respond.
  • Withdrawn – The rate request was either withdrawn by the company or we withdrew our approval.

Requested rate change (by percentage)

  1. Click "Advanced search."
  2. In "Amount," select a rate-change percentage range or "New plans" from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click "Search" to view rate requests.

importantTip

The ranges of rate-change options include:

  • Less than 10 percent,
  • 10 percent and higher, and
  • New plans.

Effective date (when the new rate takes effect)

  1. Click "Advanced search."
  2. Click in the "Date" field and select the range of dates you want to use.
  3. Click "Search" to view rate requests.

importantTip

Rate requests first became available to the public on July 1, 2011. A few requests from June 2011 were voluntarily made public by some of the insurance companies but, in general, you can search for only the rates filed after July 1, 2011.

Sorting search results

Want to sort your search results by a specific category, like company name or effective date? Click one of the arrows in any column heading to sort by:

  • Ascending or descending alphabetical order
  • Newest or oldest
  • Highest or lowest
