Washington state Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler issued the following statement about today’s court ruling on President Trump’s decision to halt federal funding that assists consumers with health insurance.
OLYMPIA, Wash. – “The court’s decision is disappointing and means that many people will pay higher rates for health plans in 2018. This is what happens when you have a president who has taken deliberate steps to undermine the health care system and put lives at risk. He has generated great uncertainty that will be reflected in higher premiums for many and greater costs for the federal government.
“President Trump chose to make health insurance cost significantly more for people who need help. The fallout from this Trump tax lands squarely on him.”
