OLYMPIA, Wash. – Daniel J. LeSieur, 46, of Washougal, will forego a felony conviction in exchange for 80 hours of community service and paying restitution of more than $3,600 and court costs. LeSieur pleaded guilty to one count of filing a false insurance claim in Clark County Superior Court late last month after Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) investigated the case.

LeSieur filed insurance claims related to water damage to his house in late 2012. At the time, witnesses stated that claims for damage, contents and dog boarding were inflated. LeSiuer reached a settlement with the insurer and the prosecutor to forego any convictions on his record.

Kreidler’s Special Investigations Unit investigates insurance fraud and works with the Attorney General’s Office and local prosecutors to prosecute criminal cases.  Consumers can report suspected insurance fraud on the Insurance Commissioner’s website.
