Our office requires all admitted and non-admitted property and casualty insurance companies with policies in Washington state to report policy count information.

Who submits the policy count data call

All companies, including both admitted and non-admitted companies operating in Washington state, with property and casualty policies, must report.

Due dates for the policy count data call

Each company must submit the complete policy count Excel file by November 2, 2026. Our office will update the template and send a notice to companies in September of each year.

What you'll submit

One Excel template for the most recent experience year must be submitted by the due date. The Excel file must be renamed to include the company’s NAIC number. For example, if your company NAIC number is 12345 and you are submitting for the experience year 2025, the file should be renamed as 12345_2025_P&C_Policy_Count.xlsx.

How to submit the policy count data call

The completed and renamed Excel file should be uploaded to Box by the submission deadline.

If your organization does not permit file transfers via Box, please reach out to datacall@oic.wa.gov, and we will provide an alternative file submission method using the Washington State Managed File Transfer (MFT) application.
