These official documents verify a license's history and status when the license has been cancelled. The letters are requested when a resident licensee moves to another state and the licensee's new home state requires verification of their Washington-state-license history.
Request a letter of clearance
Note: Requesting a letter of clearance will cancel your license.
Send a fax to 360-586-2019 or email us a written request that includes:
- Licensee name;
- WAOIC number;
- How you would like your letter delivered (via postal mail, fax or email);
- Valid postal address, email address or fax number; and
- Dated signature.
While we send the original letter via postal mail, we will fax or email a copy to you if you request it.
There is no fee for a letter of clearance.
How long will it take?
Requests are usually processed within three days of receiving them.
