Remember the three steps from the SMP: Prevent, Detect, Report!

The best way to stop fraud from happening is to stop it in the first place. Learning how to prevent Medicare fraud, errors, and abuse and then sharing what you learn is the best place to start. Medicare beneficiaries, Medicare Fraud Prevention Month starts today! Start the month by learning how to read your Medicare statements!

Read your Medicare Summary Notice (MSN) or Explanation of Benefits (EOB) in the paper form that is mailed to you or go online to and review claims.
