Pre-existing conditions and waiting periods
With health reform, as of Jan. 1, 2014, there are major changes to individual and small group coverages. Health insurers can no longer deny your application for coverage due to your medical history. If you have coverage through a large group plan, your insurer may impose pre-existing conditions and longer waiting periods until it renews.
