The 2006 legislative session proved to be a busy and productive one for the Office of the insurance Commissioner. We pursued an aggressive legislative agenda, proposing bills and supporting bills that enhanced consumer protection, clarified underinsured and uninsured auto coverage, addressed insurance fraud and championed greater consumer access to health care information, to name a few.
In addition, the 2006 Legislature passed a variety of bills affecting the Office of the Insurance Commissioner and the $23 billion industry that we regulate. Use this link to see a list of the bills (PDF 211Kb) and thumbnail summaries and backgrounds of each.
