Welcome to the pages of Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler’s Web site dedicated to fighting insurance fraud. Here you can learn about the serious problem of insurance fraud, what it costs you and what you can do to help eliminate this costly crime. On average, the typical Washington household pays more than $200 each year in additional insurance premiums that can be directly attributed to insurance scams and fraud. That’s wasted money being spent needlessly.
Organized insurance fraud has flourished and spread because local and state law enforcement agencies just don’t have the resources to pursue this type of white-collar crime. But that’s changing here in Washington where we now have a new weapon in the battle against insurance fraud – a new Special Investigations Unit that is housed in Office of the Insurance Commissioner.
Below you will find links to helpful information and Web sites that address the serious problem of insurance fraud.
