Dear Consumer,
We take consumer protection seriously at the Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC). In fact, it's our number one priority.
Every day our consumer advocates and SHIBA volunteers help consumers all over Washington find and maintain their health care coverage. It's a tough insurance market out there and we're working everyday to find a solution to the current health care system that will work for all Washingtonians.
In the meantime, our goal is to provide consumers with as much information as possible to make educated decisions when shopping for insurance and to be wary of deals that sounds too good to be true.
Unfortunately, there are always unscrupulous people who seek to make a quick buck off those in need. Illegal health plans prey on people's need to find affordable insurance for themselves and their families.
