Find a medical provider who takes your health insurance

  • Ask your plan if you must use an approved list of doctors. If you do, get a list of approved medical providers or go to your plan's website and look for a provider directory (some plans call it "find a doctor" or "find a provider").
  • If you decide to go to a doctor who doesn't participate in your health plan, ask your plan for an estimate of how much more you'll have to pay if you go to an out-of-network provider.
  • Also, ask your plan if you need a referral to see a specialist.

Medicaid

Medicaid is a federally- and state-funded health program that provides care for people who qualify, primarily due to low income. Here's an online tool to find a provider who accepts Medicaid in your local area.

Healthy Options

Healthy Options is a medical program that provides no-cost health care services for people on Medicaid or who receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).

Here's a list of contracted managed health care plans available through the state's Healthy Options program. To get a list of providers, contact each plan directly.
