Do you already have a producer license?
No. Apply for one now. You may apply for a producer and a surplus lines broker license at the same time.	Yes. You may continue with the instructions below to apply for a surplus lines broker license.

If your resident state does not:

Issue surplus lines broker licenses, please include a letter stating this.
Display the license information on the National Producer database, please submit a Letter of Certification from your state.

What if I represent a business entity?

Is the business entity already licensed as a surplus lines broker?
No. The business entity must obtain a surplus lines broker license. See instructions for business entity licensing.	Yes. Submit the Affiliation notice form (59 KB).

Please note:

You'll need to have your surplus lines broker bonds in place prior to placing business.

Fee Schedule

Please make checks payable to: Washington Insurance Commissioner. You may combine all fees on one check.

License fee: $200
Filing fee: $5*
Fingerprint processing fee: $45.25*
Affiliation fee: $20*

*Do not pay if you're already licensed or affiliated as a producer.
