Have you held a producer license with a life line of authority (LOA) for at least one year?

You cannot apply for this license. You must hold a producer license with a Life LOA for at least one year before you can obtain a life settlements broker license. You may continue with the instructions below to apply for a life settlements broker license.

IMPORTANT: There are additional instructions for completing the uniform application in Washington state:

At the top of the, "Jurisdiction and Type of License Requested" page there is a key for abbreviations in the grid.

Just below these abbreviations, there are categories for Jurisdiction, Legal Business Type and Lines of Authority - Major Lines of Authority and Limited Lines of Authority.

  1. Find the WA grid line in the, "Jurisdiction" column.
  2. In the, "Limited Lines of Authority" section, on the WA grid line, please write, "Life Settlements" in the, "Other" column.

Remember: An individual cannot transact business for you until the affiliation is received and confirmed by our office.

Please make checks payable to: Washington Insurance Commissioner. You may combine all fees on one check.

  • License fee: $100
  • Filing fee: $5
  • Affiliation fee: $20 (Only include this fee if sending affiliation in with application)
